Microsoft recruitment partner, Curo Talent, has been shortlisted in the Recruitment Marketing Awards 2018. The company submitted a dramatic marketing video, in which a Microsoft Surface Book 2 was launched into space. The campaign has been shortlisted in the ‘video under £10,000’ category, and a winner will be announced at the Recruitment Marketing Awards ceremony on November 1, 2018.
Curo Talent boasts the most elite IT talent base in the UK and specialises in supplying IT contractors with niche skill sets to Microsoft, its partners and end users. The video campaign, entitled ‘How far will Curo go for Microsoft contractors?’, centred on launching the latest Microsoft Surface Book into space to capture video images of the Earth and the edge of the horizon.
Following a successful launch into space in November 2017, the subsequent video racked up an impressive 38,400 YouTube views, many from the 35,000-strong Microsoft contractor community. The video was created to highlight the ‘extra mile’ that Curo Talent goes for members of its talent pool — and to coincide with the launch of the latest Microsoft Surface Book model in the UK.
The marketing campaign will compete against five other entrants in the ‘video under £10,000’ category (including Paddy Power, John Lewis Partnership, Forrest Brown, Elsevier and McDonald’s) at the Recruitment Marketing Awards 2018.
“One of our campaign objectives was to use the video encourage Microsoft contractors to register and provide GDPR consent — a complicated task in a niche market of approximately 35,000 people,” explained Graham Smith, marketing manager at Curo Talent. “Following the launch however, the number of opt-ins we received increased from an average of 60 per month to over 400 in December 2017.
“The campaign produced great marketing results, an increase in web traffic for Curo Talent and of course, spectacular video footage of the Earth’s horizon. The Curo Talent team is elated to be shortlisted in the Recruitment Marketing Awards, who all have their fingers crossed for the results in November.”
